You may have read my bio, friended my Facebook and even followed my blog but there’s still a lot you don’t know about me.

The fact is, I don’t speak at internet marketing events, I rarely let anyone interview me and heck I didn’t even have an internet marketing product out till late last year… I’ve been busy doing my own thing. With that said, word is still getting out somehow.

I was quiet chuffed when Ed Dale (from the 30 Day Challenge fame) asked if he could interview me for his members. This is quiet an honour when you consider what Ed has accomplished over the years… how could I say no?

The interview went really well and I’ve already have some great feedback. In hindsight I might need to work on my “uums” and “you knows” but that’s just because I’m used to being the guy asking the questions (look around this blog to see all the interviews I’ve been doing – Ken Evoy, Michel Fortin, Jonathan Mizel, Mike Koenigs and plenty more)!

Is there a greater Depression on the horizon?

I know the rallies we have seen around the world would have us believe not… but what’s really changed to the underlying economic conditions that caused the whole sub-prime collapse in the first place?

While on my recent vacation in Vanuatu, I asked my good friend, and demographics guru, Endre Dobozy what he thinks. I recorded the interview and have posted it for you below. You’ll soon understand why I like Endre’s economic forecasts… Endre calls it how he sees it.

Could you imagine growing up in a cult, breaking free at age 18 and, on your last day, having fellow cult members praying that your flesh burn in hell?

Jonathan Mizel used to be the guru to the gurus in the internet marketing world. Cutting his teeth on bulletin boards (BBS) – before the internet really took off – he’s been a pioneer from the word ‘go’. He even started one of the first internet marketing coaching clubs where some of the smartest online marketers would attended including John Reese, Marlon Sanders and Glenn Livingston.

But where did he go?

Jonathan has pretty much been off the guru circuit for the better part of 4 years. You see, he’s one of those guys who is in the trenches taking action – not just marketing internet marketing products to the internet marketing crowd. He sells real products, to real people, in the real world – working with Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft, American Express, Intel and Disney.

What’s he been doing?

Apart from being a recluse in Maui Hawaii, Jonathan’s been quietly developing his system for media buying. Most people haven’t even heard of this advertising industry but it serves billions of banner ads, popups and contextual ads every day (and it has nothing to do with Google, Bing or Yahoo).

When I heard what he was doing, I tried over the course of 3-4 months to line up a call but he’s tough to catch. Finally I got him locked down and recorded one of my best calls yet – Jonathan himself commented (after the call) that I had him talking about stuff he’s never shared before. Heck, this call will most likely be included in his new course Traffic Evolution.

It feels like we’re in the final hundred meters of a year long marathon and I can see the finish line. And, making things just that little bit harder for myself, I decided to take on more than I could possibly handle. Now before you start feeling sorry for me

As a reward, my girlfriend and I are taking 2 weeks off and going to Vanuatu – search it on Google maps. It’s north of New Caledonia and west of Fiji in the South Pacific. I can’t wait! I’ll be going for my open water scuba diving licence and I’ll be seeing my first active volcano (Mt. Yasur). I’m also hoping to catch up with Endre Debozy from Landua Securities (might even try to record an interview for you).

Today I really do have quite a treat for you… I have lined up an interview that is as rare as hen’s teeth. An interview with my mentor Ken Evoy.

Now what makes it so rare? Well, I can count the number of interviews Ken has done over the years on one hand. Heck he’s even been asked to keynote many seminars, being offered as much as $20,000 for one presentation… and you know what? He always turns them down.

Who is this guy?!

Ken Evoy is what you’d consider one of the God Fathers of online marketing. He’s been there from the start and always on the bleeding edge. His original manual ‘Make Your Site Sell‘ (MYSS), at the time of its publication, was so ahead of anything else out there it was ridiculous – even today, 8+ years on, it’s a great read filled with loads of evergreen information. Some of the cutting edge stuff of 1999 has obviously become “out of date” but, if you read it, you’ll find much of the information is still relevant today… and it’s free!

Perhaps one of Ken’s most well known accomplishments is his Site Build It (SBI) system. This program has produced more successful online businesses than anything else online! In fact, SBI sites have been featured on Oprah, BBC, MSNBC and in The New York Times, USA Today and Chicago Tribune.

Now before I start to come across like some SiteSell fanboy (and I am), I want you to understand where I’m coming from.

I first started using SBI back in 2003 (shortly after reading MYSS in 2002) and it’s now developed into the backbone of my most successful website www.meta-formula.com.  This website kicks some serious butt in my niche. I suppose that makes me a little biased but, for me, the proof is in the pudding.

Thinking back to my to early days in self development, I was a fanatic. I read the books, bought the courses and attended all the seminars I could. I suppose I’m still like that today… when I start something new, I commit to it 100%.

I had this funny idea that if I could program my subconscious mind to follow the patterns of my successful mentors, I too would become successful. In hindsight, it wasn’t so funny, it was serious stuff.

I went to great lengths to drill this material into my subconscious. I read first thing in the morning, listened to my walkman during the day and fell asleep with my headphones still playing… Programming my mind.

To this day, I still see the difference between where I am now and where I am going as a completely mental exercise.  Something I can control with appropriate self-programming.

Many years ago, in my search for understanding, I was lead to a study of the mind called Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP for short. Founded in the study of medical hypnosis, NLP seeks to give you control over who you are, by re-programming your mind.

Sounds fascinating right?

Well, once I started to understand the power of the subconscious and as I saw the results… I made a commitment to myself to, at some point, train with the grand master… the co-founder of NLP, Richard Bandler.  I wanted to experience his teachings first hand.

6 long years have passed since I made that commitment and today marks the day when I locked it in I’ve just booked a ticket to Richard Bandler’s Design Human Engineering (DHE) seminar. It’s a 6 day event held in Orlando, Florida. As you can imagine, I’m pumped -  the only thing I’m not looking forward to is the flight, 20+ hours (sheesh!).

I’m writing to you to illustrate the power of the subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind controls everything… especially if you’re a trader. As a trader, you need to program your subconscious mind for success. Probably the best person I know who can show you how to do this is a guy called Norman Hallett. Have you heard of him?

If you’ve been a subscriber of mine for a while now, you may have seen some of the interviews I’ve done with Norman over the years… suffice to say, Norman knows his stuff and he gets my tick of approval

So here’s why I’m writing to you today…

Norman has just released a program called the Disciplined Trader, and being delivered online, it costs a fraction of what I’ll be spending to fly to Florida and attend the DHE seminar, but it could be worth just as much to you.

If you hadn’t already pick up, I’ve been around the internet marketing space for many, many years now. I’ve seen a lot of changes… I’ve seen fads come and go… I’ve seen guru come and go.

One marketer I used to keep an eye on was a guy called Declan Dunn. I remember one of the last times I watch him was at the x10 Seminar in Queensland, Australia (5 years ago). In this presentation Declan give some insights that helped shape the way I do business online today.

Sadly, after that presentation, it almost felt like Declan disappeared. I thought it might be fun, since I’ve been recording some calls with my IM buddies, I’d find out what he’s been up to. Declan was only too happy to offer his time and, as it turns out, he didn’t disappear, he’s just been busy working on ‘the next big thing’.

Declan’s been honing his skills with new media. In fact, over the course an hour skype call, I was reminded why he was in such high demand on the speaking circuit. Declan is a trend spotter…

He has a new book coming out called “The New Media Game” (scheduled for release early next year) but you don’t have to wait that long to find out what he’s been up to – I recorded our recent call for you
