Hi David,
I know you would get a lot of this, but I just wanted to start off by saying that I’m really getting value from your websites, newsletters, videos and audio. Ultimate Trading Systems is without a doubt the best trading book I have read and I’ve passed it on to several of my friends.
Anyways, I’m just starting out with my trading career. I’ve spent the last couple of years learning about trading and modifying and backtesting my system. I’m now going live and am at about break-even at the moment (I’ve only been trading live for the last 3 weeks). In addition to this, i’m also getting into property investment and there are 3 properties which I’m currently looking at and will make a decision on which to buy in the next couple of weeks.
What I’m finding though is that everyone I speak to always has an opinion and advice for me. And it’s seldom positive. Some people say that shares are too risky and I’d may as well go to a casino and put my money on red. Others say that property is too risky (I was speaking to a hedge fund manager that I met last night who said that he’s currently shorting property as much as he can). Everyone tells me why I can’t be successful and can’t achieve my goals. How to I remain focussed and positive despite so many people telling me that I can’t do it?

Sure there’s risk in trading, real estate and business – life’s risky. I feel it’s much better ‘do it’ and make mistakes, rather than doing nothing and making no mistakes.
You’re on the right track, stick with it… the rewards are worth it.
