What Jonathan shared made a lot of sense. Taking your business seriously does not only mean that you have the drive to make it successful.

This also means that you have to be conscious of things that might just be 'under your nose' like strategies of competitors, doing split testing, picking each other's brain among other useful techniques to get ahead of competition.

In the end, I like the way he stressed on getting other traffic sources based on one's (financial) capacity and preference, as most of the start up affiliates usually rely heavily on SEO for site traffic.

I think the guy's right. With paid media you get almost instant results as compared to SEO. Because SEO takes time and if you really want to see huge traffic, then you need to be at the top spot, and again, that takes time, money and a lot of effort. But if you do put yourself in front of your target audience with the help of online ads, you can instantly connect with your potential customers. So yeah, for those who have no patience with SEO, I think Mizel's approach is a good alternative.

So SEO is not the end of the line then. When you've hit the top rank in search engines, what do you do to generate more profits? Jonathan just gave the best answer, paid media. It's amazing to hear that some sites out there get millions of visitors in an hour using this technique. I take it though that this must be a strategy reserved for the internet marketing bigwigs out there. Perhaps small time marketers might just don't have the right resources to execute this?
