In a recent interview, Daryl Guppy (CNBC’s Chart Man) shared with me how he sees market trading conditions having changed in 2009. He also identified the importance of tailoring your trading approach to remain one step ahead of these changes.

The fact is, if you’re using the same system you were using in 2007 or even 2008, your results will be marginal at best.

There have been significant changes in the characteristics of the market. For example, the market is much more volatile than ever before! Historically if the Dow were to move 3%, it’d be front page news, today these volatility wipes are all too common.

So how can you trade this volatility to your advantage?

When I first started to watch Dr. Mike Woo Ming (www.themarketingmd.com) he was teaming up with Howie Schwartz on a whole range of products including Infosweet, Web2Secrets, TheOutSourceCode, LeadSupreme, Adsense Immersion and Traffic Tactics. He’d also had a few ‘run ins’ with Frank Kern… as they both tried one-upping each other (click here to see one of my favourites).

What I admire most about Dr. Mike is that, unlike many internet marketers, he has built an amazing business in countless niches outside of the internet marketing space. In fact he has 80+ info sites that started out using the ‘Under Achiever’ business model. He then took many of these sites to new levels, ‘going deep’ within these niches.

Video marketing is currently the quickest way to get noticed online and that’s why it plays such a big part in my SEOmethod. Using a service called Traffic Geyser we push out our videos across the web getting us excellent targeted traffic and SEO benefits.

But I didn’t write this post to tell you about Traffic Geyser, I wrote it to introduce you to the guy behind Traffic Geyser… Mike Koenigs. He’s pretty well connected in the internet marketing world and also rubs shoulders with the likes of Tony Robbins, Paula Abdul, Deepak Chopra and Debbie Ford.

Anyway, recently I had the pleasure of chatting with Mike about the ‘best practices’ of video marketing – about halfway through, the call took an unexpected turn and we started to discuss ‘what it takes to be successful online’.

I know you’re going to love the recording and, in hindsight, it’s pretty easy to see why Mike is able to connect with some amazing people – plan and simple, he’s a really nice guy!

My video guy is constantly testing out new technologies for promoting our products and services online. Recently he’s been sinking his teeth into www.animoto.com . In short, Animoto is a web application that produces videos from user-selected photos, video clips and music. It analyzes the provided photos, video clips and music, automatically generating a movie trailer-like video with them.

Anyway, for the time it takes to create, the output is really quite awesome. Here’s one he just uploaded… cool eh?

Marc Linday and his partner Dan Turner from Article Market Automation (AMA) are friends from way back when…

One of my fondest memories of those boys is us both duelling it out at Ed Dale’s Over The Edge conference as to who was the #1 internet marketer in the world. After much debate, if my memory serves me correctly, they both agreed it was me

But seriously, as much as it pains me to say it, Marc probably is probably in my top 3 smartest SEOers of all time… and to top it off, he’s a top bloke too. Together with Dan they do business on their own terms, not getting caught up in the ‘guru’ hype.

They’ve built a tremendously successful SEO business with many other “SEO gurus” employing their serves to build links to their sites… and that’s not to mention the many real world clients they have.

But enough about how great they are… I don’t want to been seen as blowing smoke up anyone’s @#$%#.

It’s with great pleasure I’d like to share an interview I conducted with Daryl Guppy (one of my mentors) while he was attending a Trading Expo in Melbourne recently. It really was an honour with Daryl’s list of accomplishments being nothing short of amazing.

In this candid interview I asked Daryl to explain how he trades in the current market climate… He holds nothing back, even taking the time to answer questions submitted on this blog.

A school buddy of mine (quite high up the Mercedes Benz corporate ladder) first told me about this guy using SEO to sell cars in one of their prestigious Sydney based dealerships. Despite being on a pretty good wicket, this guy decided to throw it all in to become a full time Internet Marketer… pretty cool huh?

Well he went on to build an empire, in what feels like, record time. Looking back now, moving into the world of internet marketing, was probably the smartest thing he ever did.

So who is this guy?

His name is James Schramko and now it seems like he’s everywhere (nothing like turning on your RAS)… another one of my school buddies is going to his seminar, he’s hanging out with friend Pete Williams, he chats with the PLRpro boys and he’s springing up on affiliate leader boards everywhere (just saw him in the top 5 for John Carlton’s launch)… suffice to say he’s killing it online.

Ok, I’ve got another interview for you…

Sure Pete Williams (www.preneurmarketing.com) is known in the internet marketing community as one one of the 30DC crew, but what you might not know is that he’s more than a one trick pony.

Pete’s got a long list of accomplishments under his belt including being the author of ‘How to Turn Your Million Dollar Idea Into A Reality’, JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur finalist, Cleo Bachelor of the Year finalist… and that’s just to name a few.
